We invest in our employees and offer challenging and rewarding career paths. So why should you consider joining Lake Partners?
Lake Partners presents a great opportunity to learn a lot, quickly. Our projects are swift and challenging. We are exposed to a range of industries and issues on a regular basis, and we are constantly pushed to bring our analysis to the next level. Here, you will develop a keen ability for problem solving that will serve you well in every arena.
We are a boutique consulting firm with fewer than 20 employees, which creates significant opportunities for independence. At Lake Partners, you will take on serious responsibility and be rewarded with merit-based progression and compensation.
Lake Partners believes that work-life balance is important. We have regular working hours and minimal travel. We also enjoy spending time together as a firm, and engage in multiple firm events each year. Past activities have included go-kart racing, costume bowling, and an Iron Chef competition. We are also very involved in the community in Seattle.
“You Can’t Teach Tall." This quote from a former basketball coach sums up our recruiting strategy. We look for sharp, analytical problem solvers. Everything else, we can teach.
We look for people with intellectual stamina and curiosity, not a particular focus or major. Undergraduate majors of current employees include Neuroscience, Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, Psychology, and History.

We bring new hires in at the Analyst level. Analysts are responsible for research, analysis, working with the client, idea generation and communicating the answer. Once Analysts move into the Senior Analyst and Associate roles, they take on increased responsibility and a mentoring/managing role with junior Analysts.
Progression is merit-based and promotions occur during semiannual career reviews. We also have one-on-one case reviews at the end of every project. We place great emphasis on hiring the right people and strive to promote from within the firm. We have had Analysts stay on to become Partners and we don’t require a MBA for promotion beyond a certain level.
While we hope that everyone we hire will stay on, we recognize that our people are presented with myriad opportunities and may have other interests to pursue. Former Lake Partners employees have gone on to start their own companies, be political consultants and graduate from top-tier business schools. We always enjoy learning about their progress at our alumni gatherings.
Lake Partners employees are an eclectic and social group. We thrive at the intersection of creative and analytical. We hail from a variety of geographical and educational backgrounds, but share an affinity for problem-solving and Friday afternoon poker. We are successful because of the talented people who work here. Inevitably, some of our people will leave to pursue other opportunities and travel down new career paths. We are proud of their accomplishments and they remain a part of the Lake Partners family.
